Meet Ursula Brantley

Ursula Brantley is a writer, mother, and native of Shreveport, LA. She is a graduate of Huntington High School and attended Louisiana Tech University as well as Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Her professional writing journey began in 2012 when she became a regular contributor for Mic.com. Within a year, she was chosen to write a number of articles for CoLab Radio, blog site for M.I.T.'s Community Innovations Lab. Her articles were run during a 6-week series about the wonderful community programs Shreveport has to offer. In 2013, she attended the NATJA Conference and was a contributor to Shreveport/Bossier's own blog site, 20x49. She has been an advocate and public speaker for causes such as domestic violence since 2014 and contributed to local publication, Shreveport Magazine, in 2018. The following year, she acted as Assistant Online Editor for SwagHer Magazine. Soon after, she began ghostwriting work for various companies and partnerships. She has also created content for Alpha Media Radio Group and radio/tv personality Rock-T. In 2020, she joined the SB Magazine family as a contributing writer. Ursula continues to pursue her goal of having a career in writing and journalism.
